My friend was lucky enough to snatch these goggles this year at Millville when Tommy Searle threw them off the track. Can anyone one tell me why there is a maxi pad on his goggles. has anyone seen this done before? is it to stop sweat? is this a common practice with other pros?

Yes, it's to absorb sweat. People have been using this trick for years.

Yes it is to stop sweat from running down into his eyes but you can only do this every 28 days. LOL just kidding couldn't help myself. It is an old trick from back in the day.

Maxi pads are great for soaking up blood, sweat and tears.
