I was reading "Racer Head" on RacerX web site and Ping commented in his own words that,
"Yamaha has been doling out bikes, parts and “factory motors” to any Tom, Dick or Harry that decides he wants to run a race team. L&M, Moto Concepts, Star Racing, YOT and now Valli Yamaha".
Wow, I was thinking the Yamaha made a move towards the future, by not fielding a Factory in-house Team and investing in their support teams. It's how the manufactures have approached other types of motorcycle racing, like Moto-GP, MX-1, MX-2, MX-3, World Superbike, American Road Racing, and now Supercross / Motocross. Not to speak about NASCAR, F-1 and other types of car racing.
I would never imagine industry media would ever call the people that would step up and field a race effort in these economically trying times "Tom, Dick or Harry". To me this is a insult to these people and sponsors supporting these team's.
I say, let's hear it for Yamaha for looking towards the future and taking Supercross and Motocross to the next level.
Wait a minute, doesn't Ping manage the Troy Lee Race Team? I guess Honda handed out support to that race effort also, so I witch one of the three people that Ping spoke of is Mr. Ping, Tom, Dick or Harry? I would say he's "Dick".

his budget from Honda got hacked!
It might be as dsklein25 said, and he's throwing a "Little Angry Man" comment because Honda clipped Troy Lee support (but I don't know anything about their team) and his angry that Yamaha is increasing support with their teams.
I guess I'll just store this in the memory bank and move on. Life's too short to have a little prick try to cut other race teams down to make himself feel or his team look better.

Besides , the saying "Tom , Dick and Harry" is just saying......it gets thrown around all the time. I don't think he meant it in a slamming type way......but maybe i'm wrong.
Oh, because it is the off season, right now?
plus the rest of the subject went on to read as follows:
"The upside to all that is how many jobs have opened up as a result of Yamaha going that route. Imagine how many rides would be available if all the manufacturers supported satellite teams with bikes, parts and technical help instead of operating their own teams. They could support multiple teams and still save money over the way they are doing it now. From a business perspective it’s a no-brainer. I’ve been saying for a while that it will all go that way eventually and Yamaha’s approach to this season may be the start of it."
Doesn't really sound bitter to me at all.
Funny, when I read the piece this morning i didn't read any negativity...
maybe this guy is just projecting HIS own bitterness on to Ping...
I honestly don't think Ping's comment was meant to be anything other than a sarcastic remark, and if it was, does it matter what Ping thinks of Yamaha's support teams?
6 more weeks.... only six.... more... wee...
I read your comment as if you were saying; “With all due respect Mr. Yamaha Race Teams, Yamaha is supporting every Tom, Dick and Harry and your a bunch of shitty teams except Valli, their the only solid-looking one, but it’s giving the industry more job’s so it’s a good thing for the sport”.
You can't just say a shitty comment and then back it up with the true facts that everyone already knew, without being insulting.
Obviously your going to say it was a joke because people took it wrong, but there's no reason to write a sideways comment like that in the first place. Tom, Dick and Harry it's a favorable comment towards anyone, no matter how you look at it.
And I don't wear panties.
I've been trolled.
