Let me start by saying I love two strokes but to those of you that complain on and on about how the class displacement has killed the two stroke seriously please consider the following facts:
A) You can still buy brand new and excellent two strokes. If the demand for inexpensive, light and fun bikes is a strong as you all seem to think then good news. The MFG that are making 4 strokes only aren't blind and if the number one selling bike is a YZ250, don't you think maybe, just maybe, they'll come up with an competitive model?
b) You can buy used and yet still extremely competitive two strokes. IMHO it ain't the bike holding people back, it is a lack of talent so lighten up and have fun. Ride what you enjoy.
C) Ironically those that complain the loudest about 2 strokes and displacement ARE VET RIDERS where there are no displacement rules.
D) Most AMA sanctioned MX events, GNCC and WORCS all allow you to race two strokes heads up. Two strokes are killer off road. Guess what? Even the off road people are riding 4 strokes over 2 strokes. So much for off roaders with common sense and ignoring fashion trends...
E) WORCS has 125A,B,C only classes but they are dying off because like 4 people total race them over 3 skill level classes. Again lots of talk about needing a class to ride in but very little action.
F) The consumer spoke with their pocketbook and bought 4 strokes instead of 2 Strokes. In some cases 10 to 1. So much for huge demand...
G) The exclusion of heads up cc racing effects maybe 250 people nationwide and of those 250 people most of them seem to prefer the four strokes anyway.
H) Professional racing has very very little bearing on the consumer. For the most part what the Pro's ride is not what most people need. Its too violent and stiff and unreliable. Unfortunately Joe Public can't see this.
In conclusion if you want two strokes to survive, BUY ONE and GO RACE and RIDE IT!! Otherwise please just stop whining.

Different strokes for different folks.
Out of the 40 riders that were there yesterday (slow day and it was HOT!) There were at least 7 new modern 2 strokes 125 & 250 with good riders on them ....I wasn't the lone warrior!
Pit Row
I have been looking into getting a 500cc two stroke for fun ..... Obvious choices are a KX500 and a CR500.....which one do you guys think is a better machine? Please don't take into account the AF conversions just the bikes heads up in stock trim.
The KX is far better offroad and more reliable than a claw hammer.
hurt all over....
