On RacerX is a pretty good interview.
Billy asked him about the gear, and Larson said the boots have come a long way.
So can you ride in them or not? Do they have a distinctively different feel? And if they've come a long way, maybe people who bought the first run have a bad first impression.

funny how they'd release a POS item to the public (the boots) in the first place..... didn't they have even one guy ride with them before they started shipping?? too many things are draw up on the computer, produced, and hit dealer shelves without ever having been tried on track.....

From the amount of responses to the original post(or lack there of), I'd say not too many.
That's why I was curious.

Feel safer in my Scott boots. Had a pretty bad ankle break a year and a bit ago, so I need the extra protection. Boots are not a fashion item to me, so I'm not too concerned about what the boys think of how my feet look. Realistically, I'm probably too old to care anyway as long as I can ride. Going without the bike just sucked.

Won't ride without em now...

$500 BOOTS HAHAHA
I have used a ton of different boots and my favorite boots have never been the most expensive boots. I like the alpinestars Tech 6 a lot more than the tech 8. The tech 10 I have never (and will never) tried

I have a set of middle of the road 661 boots now and they are great

Big money=big gimmick sometimes

Aparantly Tim Ferry really likes them since he signed a contract to use them but has been racing in his old SixSixOne boots with the emblems blacked out. They must be something if they can't pay a dude to wear them.

You are welcome to start another thread about his accomplishments, and he has many more than a decent finish this week, but this thread is about Scott boots, not PJ. But since you bring up the arguement, I wonder if he could have podiumed with other boots.Unsure Blink

I have wondered about these boots. A buddy of mine that destroyed both ankles years ago is considering them, but with Ferry jumping ship and Larson saying they have come a long way with their imput makes you wonder. Hey, must be good for some people, Ben Lamay has been wearing the since the boots first came out a few years ago. If they sucked that bad, I think he would have changed boot sponsors at some point.
