Let me tell you what they just did..........

There is a kid up here in Alabama who mowed lawns, chopped wood, whatever he had to do buy himself a bike. The people who sold him this bike took total advantage of him being excited about getting his first real bike. In short, the bike was worn out. Everytime he rode the thing, it would break. He would go back to mowing lawns and working his butt off to get the money for the parts. On the last breakdown, the whole top wqas completely trashed. As you could probably tell, his folks do not have much money but they are honest great people and believe in working for what they get. Honestly, they are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. The Stewarts got word of him and what he was going through just to have a motorcycle to ride.

This past week, a package showed up at this kids door with most everything he needed to get his bke back to running again. They did not ask for the kid to pay for anything, even shipping. They did it out of the goodness of their hearts. They do not know this kid at all.

They made an honest, hard working kid very happy and he was absolutely speechless. To the Stewarts, it may not have been much and they didn't really have to do it....but they did and that meant the world to this kid. I have never seen a kid so excited. That's what I call priceless.

Good point, that doesnt happen alot now. Parents just give out bikes instead of kids like that one acctually working for it.

I can't believe you're making this story into they should stop being cheap and bye this kid a bike, instead of focusing on the fact of a very kind heart. Remember these are the poeples son that most of you guys hate. Non of you wouldve of done it. And if you said you would then do it.

Okay, settle down Beavis.

I think you misread it.

The original story is pretty cool. It's awesome to hear about someone that motivated, it's just a bummer that he got taken advantage of. It's also cool that people are willing to help out.

It is always the thought that counts even if it was something small. Just because you are loaded it should not be taken that you should give all out.
I hope he thanx the Stewarts or LB will be P1SSED

Thats the kind of determination and love for the sport that it takes to reach the top, wonder if the kid has any talent?

That was the point of the post. No fights...no bickering...just watching out for our own.

If any one of us on here met this kid and had the means to do so, they would do just that but the Stewarts stepped up and sent him the parts. If this kid walked up to the Stewarts, they would have no idea who he is, they have never met him. They are great folks.

I will sponsor him for race fees and such on his first race and make sure he has all the gear he needs when he wants to race. I personally cannot wait to watch that race.

A friend and I offered to do all the work but he said he did not want to put us out like that and his Dad and him would try.....but he did ask if he could call if he had a problem.

Jackson, I have no idea if he has any talent. I have never seen him ride long enough to see but I do know he has the heart of a lion. Look at what he has gone through just to ride.

Very cool of them. Considering the kid's circumstances, I doubt he has any real talent. but then again, he sounds like the kinda kid that will just be stoked as all hell to even ride or race the local C class. That's what it's all about. Sometimes the guys in the C class on clapped out beaters have more love for the sport than anyone else. You definitely appreciate things a lot more when you have to bust your ass to get them.

I love hearing stories like this. Hope the kid gets some help , because it seems like he's been working his ass off to get something a lot of kids just get handed to them , and then never appreciate it. That was really cool of the Stewarts to help out like that too.

Great story!
I'm sure the Stewart's know all about hard work.I'm sure it took them many many years of hard work to get where they are today. Great to see them helping out a total stranger that has a passion for the sport.
If possible, try to keep us updated on this kid.
And if you can...try to get us video of his first race.

Hey, its not the size or price of the gift, its the gift that counts. I love giving the local racers help with anything, parts, free wash, whatever. its a good feeling to put a smile on someones face.

I appreciate everyone understanding what this was about.

Exactly, that is the reason ...the smile. We all hear about the bad stuff, I just wanted everyone to hear some good stuff. One of the coolest parts is that #7 is his favorite rider and this kid went to the mailbox and got a package from him. We are all pretty much used to bumping into the guys in the mags but this kid is far removed from that. Could you imagine the look on his face? And the first thing he did was call me and say "Mr. Nick, you aren't going to believe this..."

I will be sure to get soome pictures from his first posted up at the very least. Man, I cannot wait for that day.

EID, I sent you a message.

There was a kid from Saskacthewan(sp) that posted on TT about a bike he got burnt on, worked for it , he wrote about it and everyone started hazing etc. , calling him an idiot for buy his CRF 450 05. Well I had tons of extra parts so I asked him what he needed and sent them up there. 2bros pipe, 2 head pipes, susp linkage, clutch cover and just a bunch of things. Well when I went to send it, I put a value on it and the post office wanted to charge me about 200bills. I about shit. Anyhow the kids dad helped him and he sent me pics of the bike after it was done. I felt very good helping him. Wish more people would help out like that . I have so much stuff that is just taking up space that might help out young self funding guys. I also meant ot say very nice of the Stewarts.

Dave is a good dude. Always has been. If I know this kid like I think I do, he will do something for the Stewarts to show his appreciation.

FCR, that was a good thing you did.

I don't want to say the guys name who sold him the bike but it does tweak my nips that someone would do this. They had a HUGE parts bin that they could have visited to make the bike a bit more dependable. The last bike we sold, we thought it was in tip top shape but the first time the kid rode it, it blew a fork seal.... the second time it ate the top end. He called to ask where to buy the parts and I told him to bring the bike over and gave him the choice of buyng the bike back or fixing it. He said he would take care of it but asked if I could help him fix itdo the work. Of course I said yes and I ordered the parts and fixed the bike and gave it back to him....he wanted to pay but I said no. The bike was has been pretty trouble free since. Anyone who knows us absolutely knows we do NOT have much money but I would have felt awful if I didn't make it right. Whenever we see him, he comes over and hangs out just to talk. Making it right hurt a little but I think I did the right thing.
