That is on a big bike, The wick was my first outdoor race on a 80. Talk about gnarly! and than to wait for the one faucet that was outside the finish line so we could get a drink of fresh water. That was motivation to win in itself, but in the 80 class for NESC they race all the 80 classes together so there was no way I was winning! Good old days. I am still unsure what made it so fun but it was the best!

NO way! There is no sand in the USA, only in europe! They invented it! Lol.

Looks pretty gnar, like Baja mx here in Michigan.

The last time I went to open practice there they were turning people away, I was one of the last ones in and they only gave us 2 laps at a time because there were so many people. I did 2 laps and went home because they said 3 hours till the next round. I hope it's better now.

Same here! I used to love/hate going to Southwick on an 80.

Went there for a national some five or more years ago. Great track, great people, and great viewing!

Its a place you love if you do good, and you absolutely hate if you don't...at least its been that way for me the last 6 or so years I have raced their.

Sand tracks are the best!
do you agree fte that judging from that pic above the original plymouth track makes that look like a putting green?

Yeah, but in truth a lot of the Plymouth pics don't "look" as rough as it was. Kind of like hills never look as steep in a pic.

I think they all get bad ass rough if they're not groomed too soon, but some definitely get there quicker. Plymouth could go from billiard table to hip deep whoops in the turns by the end of practice. Some of the old school Southwick stuff blows me away; it was cool watching the frog pond section.

Bob, remember they used to run Hangtown as the opening round this time of year? I was driving from San Luis back up to Sacto yesterday, through 101 and over to 5 at Hollister, and it was just beautiful. The hills are epic and green, and just the perfect time and place for moto if you could get some space to run a race. Not to put down SX, but it's really a shame there can't be some pro level outdoor racing in Nor Cal this time of year. It's such different conditions by late May.
