Im sure there are a number of people out there wondering if Reed will be a threat in 2013, let's face it he was real banged up this year, doesn't need the coin, has nothing to prove, but... he did prove this year he was on pace with RV2 prior to taking a nose dive into the dirt.

Im really surious to see how he will shape up in 2013 against the youngsters. No doubt this will be his last farewell to full time dirt bike racing based on his passion for 4 wheels.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

PS: Im real interested in who his title sponsor will be as he is known for bringing in outside sponsorship

I'm interested to hear who he got coming in as well. I know Discount Tires stepped up their support, but I don't think they stepped into the title sponsorship role.

Hopefully now that their second child has arrived he'll get on top of letting us know what 2013 has in store.

When you look back at what he's done in his career it is pretty stellar. He may have been the perennial second place guy for a number of years, but the guys he's raced against and beat have been the best the series has ever seen and he's always been right on pace with them. There's precious few who can run that pace and this sport will lose a great one when he hangs the boots up.

I don't think he'll have a second rider next year. Doesn't seem like he will get Deano, and it everyone else is taken. He'll probably wait for Tomac perhaps?

Just hope he hits every round next year. May have to add in another sx in addition to atl to see hime ride.

There won't be another Reedy once he's gone. Better watch, learn, and appreciate while you can.

x3. Well said

Id like to see 22 win one more championship before he hangs up his boots. Hopefully this long break wont hurt his speed

He should be well prepared for the 2013 sx. He'll be back on the bike soon, and will probably work harder than normal in the months leading up to a1 because of all this time off.

i know i will get crucified for saying this but i would put him in Carmicheals and MC's league. Every year most of us think we have seen the BEST of Chad Reed and that his time has come for the young kids to step it up another level and leave Chad behind but he picks up his speed and skills indoor and out and runs the pace of all the next generations of champs. Chad is an animal and will continue to be a major contender when ever he commits himself to a series and 2013 will be NO different.

X2-the guy has found the speed necessary to run against RC, then JS, now RD and RV. He just keeps getting faster. Without the 2 crashes he suffered in sx and mx the argument could easily be made that he would be 2 national championships richer right now. Regardless, he has raced and beaten the best over the past decade. He is a seriously bad dude. He will be a player in sx 2013-count on it.

no need for crucifiction on this, he has been around a long long time - raced against all the best and always gave a damn good show. Sure he doesn't have the massive amount of titles but shit he certainly has done better than the vast major, and over a long time.
