Prior to 2013 I had over 85 late 60's and early 70's vintage MX bikes - all makes in various states. Still have 3 sweet ones!

I thought that was a decent unrestored example of that bike, and that someone might find it interesting.

I'm always shooting the vintage race at A Day in the Dirt with envy at some of the kick-ass bikes (and vintage gear) that's rolling around out there.

Back in the early 90's I would buy bikes like that for a dollar a cc...if they ran. Had a sweet ass nickel plated framed Penton 250 I bought at the Steamboat Springs vintage national back in 1993 for yep, you guessed it, a dollar a cc. Then I got an ambulance ride from the track the following day and my friends sold it to the highest bidder for $450.00. Those fuggers!

I had people who would show up at my house and give me old Elsinores back then. Now they all want a grand for a pile of frozen and cracked rust.

Great friends, at least they got more than you paid for it.

I think it's awesome and if weren't for the bad influences on this forum I wouldn't be getting a vintage bike.

I started looking through the other bikes for sale in that area just to see whats out there. I can't believe the difference in mileage the streetbikes have compared to here where we have winters. 40k or 50k miles seems insane to me to buy.

Been sitting in the shop keeping warm for it seems like ages, They miss me but can only handle 1 class nowdays, and the Maico gets all the available track time.

Yeah, it probably is tough to stop at one, although he got a good starter.

The problem for.me would be even if I had the coin to do it there are so many flavors, shapes, and sizes from the past that I think are all way cool.

The bike is badass, but the payment really does sound shady. Is this something that's normal for Craigslist?

Want to pay him cash? will cost you $2,195.00

Want to use your credit card? He must have a business, He'll charge $2,000.00 to your card
Plus give him $149.00 probably to cover the cost that the credit card company charges him.
The credit card company will get between $80 to $90 of that $2000 someone would charge.

I know, it doesn't make much sense, I would give a better deal for all cash.

He runs the credit card he HAS to pay sales tax on the 2k

Alot of people in government would like to pretty much do away with cash. Can't hide that Credit Card though.

Rode plenty of them, got no desire to get pitched off a twin shocker again.

Give me a overpriced 60 hp FI that you can hold wide and forget brakin bumps.

When the economy crashed I chose to close my sub-contracting business rather than go into serious debt attempting to keep it alive. It was more of a liquidation. I downsized and moved to a smaller place. Storing that many bikes cost money each month. Plus the Vintage market was in the tank. I worked the numbers... how many years would take for the vintage market to return vs the cost of storage vs piecing the collection out.....

I waited patiently and advertised quietly. Took me 3 months to come to terms with a buyer on the SE coast. The deal was made and a majority of the bike were shipped. A few went onecee twocee and they were gone.

Some days I miss them and most days I do not...... there were many Falta's, TP's ands SP bikes all very nice, Maico's, Bultaco's, Greeves, Montesa, ............countless others. Many Pallet Boxes of full of parts .....NOS and used.
