...now that's funny for a media outlet that claims to know it all.

They just aren't sure if it's an April Fools joke or not. It is weak if MXA is pulling this on March 31st though.

If it's true they'll look bad because there is No Way the don't know by now.

I understand their pain right now, though.

How will they look bad? I don't think not posting something as news before they have gotten official confirmation will cause them any grief.

Yes, maybe, but I don't see how not posting rumors will make them look bad.

Yeah, you're right...

It's all part of D.C.'s plan to destroy the Nationals.

You're an Idiot.

A few years back, I think it was RX that posted a comment saying Everts was going to race the Nationals on March 31... I was excited for a minute, but it turned out to be an early April fools joke...

Gang, I am on a short vacation, and there has been no official PR yet, so not sure what Racer X is supposed to say....

But I did speak to Jody, and the AMA, and there will be a GP at Glen Helen that weekend. It's a win/win for SoCal fans because now you get two races -- the national in September and the GP at Glen Helen. Everyone gets to move forward in the direction they feel is best for them, and maybe now Trip will relax and enjoy motocross again.

Now can I go back to the pool? I'm going to be busy this summer and won't get time off with my family after this.

...yeah it was impossible RX wouldn't know it. Wait a minute, there's no news article about it yet on RXonline (the whole MXSports-RX crew still at the pool?), just the calendar change...may I say that the return of the USGP would deserve better treatment? Just sayin'

Definitely a win win situation for SoCal. . . The only way to make it even better would be if the top American guys showed up at this GP and went head to head with the Euro's. Will MX Sports leave a window in their AMA outdoor schedule in the coming seasons to give our National riders a chance to represent at this race?

On the other hand who knows if the AMA guys here in the states even want to run this GP . . .

It will be up to Luongo to make it worth their while for the top AMA riders to show. That really will be his challenge in making the GP a success over here.

The core fans will always show up even if there aren't any US riders ... but to really pull a good crowd you need some of the name US riders I would think. For the lower tier US riders I think this is a great opportunity to gain some attention ... but I don't know how Luongo will handle local entries.

I will have to assume that the GP infrastructure reqs will be put on hold for a year or t\hree giving GH time to comply. That will be an extra bonus for SO Cal if they make a lot of improvements to the facility.

I know DeCoster has always been a supporter of the GPs over here. It will be interesting to see if he can talk the Zook honchos into allowing his guys to enter. And hopefully some of the other US teams will follow.

WHY would they race? why would they even try to race? Bad Brad was the lone american and he even said he never tried to really win the USGP, only to survive and leave intact. Brad had it all on the line, why would other racers that had nothing to gain even consider it? maybe i'm wrong....

Why is a good question, which is why I said "On the other hand who knows if the AMA guys here in the states even want to run this GP . . .

The only reason I could think of is Ego? But you're right, if you are not racing the entire series it is a big risk.

Post Edit:

IMHO, if MX Sports voluntarily left a window in their schedule so that "IF" any riders running the AMA series wanted to do this USGP they would have a free weekend to do so - I think everybody world wide would see this as MX Sports making a good will gesture to the fans of motocross. We live in a cynical world where it seems like the people with power are making choices we just don't understand. IF MX Sports leaves that weekend free then it totally defuses conspiracy theories and animosity and makes DC look like the good guy (which he pretty much is trying really hard to be)

Well no matter what, Osborne, Albertson (and Lamay if he's racing GP's?) are gonna have some great support!

I think you may get a good turn out. It might be hard to get the title contenders to commit and they may need an incentive from sponsors but some of the satelite teams may put their riders forward.

I would imagine riders like Windham, Wey, Townley and co... will be thinking seriously about it.

Different sport but I used to always enjoy watching the US national riders race against the world superbike guys at laguna seca at the US WSB GP. They had the track dialed before the races and were always up front.

Last year Racer X started the tear-off ban thing before April Fools so it may be a joke.

Swimming in the Swimming Pool

Swimming, swimming, in the swimming pool
Hot days, cold days, in the swimming pool
Breast stroke, side stroke, fancy diving, too
Don't you wish that you could have
Nothing else to do, but... (repeat)
