I can see where P could think it's racist, I know I always thought it was the worst nickname for James , it's mean spirited.

I don't think I've ever called James "bubbles" always James or JS7 and a few times bubba (when that was OK) but this is weaker than puppy piss.

I can remember Stewart having butt patches that read, "Bubba", that lead to "Bubba-licious" with a logo furthering the play on words association with a "bubble"gum brand, so a natural spin-off from that would be "Bubbles" without ever having anything to do with his race, Michael Jackson, or chimpanzees.
Only a racist would assume the association relating a young Black man to MJ's chimp.

Im also plenty old enough to know plenty about M. Jackson but had no clue about his pets or what they are called. I never gave a shit enough about him to let it cross my mind what pets he had much less what he called them. And because some people know that information Im a racist ? Screw that!
But that certainly doesn't mean that making that association is not racist thinking.
The natural association would be "Bubbles" came from a bubble-gum related butt patch that James himself used. That's the association I came up with in my racist mind. Sheesh!
I don't naturally jump to conclusions, but have seen a bunch of shit here and there against James that's really fucked up. So I could actually see how someone could come late to the game and make a wrong assumption, even if we didn't.
