Fox Sports to broadcast virtual NASCAR Homestead-Miami race on Sunday
Race was on FS1 at 1:30pm ET
Replay will be 3:30am ET.
Maybe this could be tried for SX or MX?

Replay at 3:30am.
I DVR'd it and it was entertaining.
A lot of the Pros were in it and Dale Jr and Bobby Labonte came out of retirement to race it.
It's some great advertising for the iRacing online service.

Whats funny is the real pros got blown away by a guy that normally calls spotter for them. lol.

Ive been iRacing for about 10 years now and have met more amazing smart people in the iRacing forums than any other place on the internet. Its crazy the amount of automotive racing knowledge that is shared in those forums.

Now that the simulations and steering wheels are so good.... If you cant wheel a real car in real life you will suck at iRacing. Hell even the top F1 Teams use iRacing as a trainer now.

The price though.... Over 10 years I have spent well over a $5k in Subscription, Tracks, Cars and Computer/Peripherals/Monitors/brakes/etc....

I enjoyed it, and as someone who's been to Homestead a million times, the track and surroundings were spot on.

iRacing is a BLAST!! I don't play it but my brother is pretty into it and I can watch it for days. The NASCAR race with all the pro's that got on Fox was the best advertisement the sim could get!

They are replaying it on FS1 right now. Was a pretty good finish just wish the cautions were shorter but overall it was solid.

It was actually pretty cool. The commentary was hilarious and you could tell they were having fun with it. I'd like to see them put these guys into other cars and track types. Maybe have the NASCAR guys drive some SCCA or Indy. Maybe get drivers from other series to join as well. Could be a virtual version of IROC but with multiple disciplines.

Anyway, it was done for fun and to provide something for the fans to enjoy. Unfortunately, there isn't much option for other sports to do similar... at least at the same level.

SO..... hours of left turns that are faked. Sorry folks...for me, NASCAR is boring enough in real life.

I'll take about any entertainment I can get at this point.

I think the race I was talking about was before this one a few days ago when they were "testing" the idea.
Here I found it.... https://www.foxnews.com/auto/josh-williams-nascar-iracing-replacements-…

Its crazy but the best "Virtual" road course driver in the world doesnt even have a Drivers License in real life. Here is a vid of iRacing flying him to Road Atlanta in a Skip Barber car and Star Mazda. Its insane. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p_sCrM1CcI

Watch till the end.....
