No we didnt, though with just over 30 riders on the each gate, 19th should not be to bad, though not sure what the first turn is like at Lommel. Better go check the track map.

Apparently the new start and first turn is a lot wider than before, so it may end up hopefully not being too much of an issue.

The first turn is a very wide left hander - according to the track walk video with Paul Malin.

For those that don't know the initial gate positions are determined by a ballot.

Belgium 28th. I don't think it is that big an issue in Lommel. It should be easy to pass in Lommel. I remember 2010 in Franciacorta when team USA was completely down the order. In Franciacorta gate pick was important and team USA was only 4th of 5th after day 1. It still was enough to win on sunday.
For Belgium this bad gate pick probably means that winning today is out of the order, but they should finish up high enough to have a chance tomorrow.

Is it to early to start a race discussion thread? or change the title and use this one just for practice? if not the quali race thread will be 10 pages before the gate even drops.
