That track looked like the old Rabbit Run. Flat as a pancake.

Only after the McClaskey's took over in '75 and reworked the track to bring in a Trans-AMA. Before that the only elevation changes were through the ditch they called a creek. Black asphalt dirt, too. My avatar was taken there in 72.

I remember that TransAMA. Vaugely, though, it was the 70s, I had a broken femur and thus a pain pill perscription...

I think they had two. 76 and 77.

I made a one race comeback in early 77 out there. Actually got the holeshot and led for a lap before pumping up and fading. Figured out real quick those 76 Elsies weren't real competitive against those blasted RMs. Waited until 79 when Honda finally built a real long-travel bike.

This track is at a different location than the old GP track. I was there last year and had a blast. I plan to go again this year.

Just watched the race,, good stuff. Jones & Desoto still have skills! A Hodaka made 8th. (Was it Croft? cant remember)

The Jammer is a frickin riot.
