There was a topic on here a bit ago about the 09' KXF 450 head pipe asking if anyone else ran into issues with it.

I could not find the topic but, My son took a digger yesterday and will be needing a new head pipe. Now I'm not sure if that is the type of damage you were speaking of but, he thought it went kind of easy.

At any rate I will be sending a Dr. D system down to him for replacement.

How are the new Honda 450 headers holding up...The way they cross the front of the motor you would think they would see some issues.

I think they (Honda) are a little heavier gage material than the old header. Have you ever looked into MRD for the KXF. The quality, workmanship and performance are top notch... Plus any damage to the pipe and Dave (the owner) fixes it for you....free!! Unheard of in this industry.

I'd never heard of them.

My son bent his when he crashed, we also thought it bent kinda easy. I think one of the reasons they bend so easy is because they stick out so far.

Looking like it's not a bad idea to carry a spare set up.

I agree with AMA 714 MRD pipes are top notch and he has the best warrant in the industry..You break it he fixes it or replaces it free..The whole system is about $450 bucks or so..Custom made to how you want it.. I tell him I want top end pull he makes just like that.. He worksmanship is second to none..Here is one on my 09 kx 450 it performs great much better than stock and sounds good too.

Apparently his stuff works real good, but he doesn't advertise in the moto mags so he never gets any play. Lots of guys out west run it.

Freeze it.

REMOVE THE HEADER then fill the header with water, stick it in the freezer give it a day or so, the water expands to ice and forces the dents out.

So next time that happens...

This is a load of crap.

Magazines are often looking for new companies to product test. If he wants a review in a magazine call them up or send an editor a e-mail.

The freezing I will definatly try. Good to hear that the 08' bolts up also. Makes getting back up's a bit easier... Any other parts that cross over from 08' to 09' ?

We had ( on our two strokes) capped off both ends and with a valve treaded in one end of the cap, put about 60 lbs of air in the head pipe. Applied heat to the dented area and as the air heated it would exspand and push the dent out.

Easy man.... All I am saying is his stuff works.... AC said he had never heard of them and I said MRD doesn't advertise in Mags. I dont claim to know or understand how a magazine advertises a product. I was informed that you pay an advertising fee to get a product reviewed..... If you know better, by all means fill us in.
