I have to be totally honest...im a little worried. Doesnt the MXDN seem like it was a long time ago? and what has Eli and Baggy been doing since then? probably working their asses off to get better.

well, bagget does have a broken wrist, so he probably isn't doing too much. Eli is in europe too, which could be good or bad, depending, but either way I don't think Kenny will be behind the 8-ball

He still had something broken in his arm. It's bothered him all year.

Correct kenny had the plate removed from his wrist a week before the mec cup.

I don't think hes going to be behind the 8-ball, It's only 1 week into November. He has plenty of time.

I also see that he has been wearing a new Ortema vest w/ a back plate.

Dunno how much they can do for people when it comes the majority of spinal injuries? After talking to an spine surgeon many years ago, I learn that a majorty (?) of these injuries comes from spine being ripped apart, like you land on your butt high speed sideways, and the upper body keeps moving tearing the vertebras apart (and spine). This would stabilize some, but the lower body like pelvis, would still be able to be ripped off since it's not really stabilized. What would halt any of these, is a full cast, with some movement, where you basically sit on the armor. Picture a female swimsuit in carbon, so any force would be transmitted to the rest of the armor.

Still if the injury is made from direct impact, like you land on a stone, or hard surface were the force would be directly on the spine, or maybe this could decrease some of flexion or extension?

It's the best we have, but way from enough.

But I have no data supporting this speculation.

Well, i was cartwheeling / somersaulting many times, and it was such a trip because everything went into slo-motion for one of the tumbles, my head pointing downhill as my legs came over the top of me, like a swimmer in the "pike" position, as my back/shoulders hit the ground, my legs slammed into me and pretty much broke me in half.

I would think in a case like mine, a backplate like that very well could of helped, then again you never know.

Maybe, but I doubt it, dunno if it makes your misfortune any less to suggest it would have saved you? You have to point the direction here. I hate this happened to you.

I really dislike this part of our sport, makes me anxious, and it's the only reason why I often consider to get out...

Where do you get off as im suggesting it "makes my misfortune any less"? I am way past the whole "woes is me blah blah" BS many many years ago, and never once have suggested anyone have sympathy for my situation. "Shit happens" I am simply pointing out that a protective device like that could prevent serious injuries such as mine, get it? Obviously Kenny believes in it, and its cool that something is out there and being developed for our sport, just as neck braces have been developed. (but we dont even need to get into that debate)

I think it is really cool to see a high profile rider like Kenny wearing such a protective device. I really liked the one he had built into the Fox airframe, i wonder if they are going to do the same w/ this one? because that vest seems it would be really hot in the summer!

I'm sure he'd put up a good fight against Tomac. But yeah, his chances of winning the title would be much better on the other coast.

Maybe they'll integrate one of those cool vests into it to keep it cooler. It'll be like a spine protector, core cooler, roost deflector.

I think if any of the guys deserve a wee break its K-Roc, he's possibly raced more than any of the guys in the past 2 years when you think of his part time SX appearances, full time GPs, extra 450 GP rounds etc etc. Esp compared to kids his age because he entered the GPs that bit younger than his comp turned pro. Definitely not going to get any faster being burnt out thats for sure!

Wish more videos were shot like that, no shitty music or overuse of slo-mo, just pure moto that makes you feel like you are standing on the side of the track. Love it, the K.I.S.S principle.

Ease er down a notch there, didn't sound like he was trying to imply anything..."dunno...?" is a question..not a statement.

On another note..hope Kenny does well in SX, he is fun to watch.
