Could this be the 1st time ever a MXer has....been traded to another team?

Think about who is running the show... Coach Gibbs has certainly mentored Coy. Could JGR have slipped something into JS's contract like is in sports teams contract.... that gives them the right to trade a player??? Kind of like in Money Ball?

Is JGR trading JS to another team?

The thing I am most intrigued about is if the NCAA will make JS sit out a season due to transferring to another team.

Yes, it's a done deal. Traded for Magic Johnson and two 3rd round draft picks in 2017.

if there was a trade clause in a riders contract it would let the teams offer longer term contracts and give the riders security in knowing they have a job for more years.

If the rider/team relationship did not work out the rider could be bought out by another team.

What it probably is, is Suzuki or James buying out the contract so that JGR gets something out of it. More like getting something back but same difference.

Traded to Hendrick Motorsports for Jimmie Johnson. They both used to be fairly good motocross riders. Hendrick is looking to get some younger blood in the garage and much like Stewart, Johnson most likely wouldn't finish the season in SX either.

This is not to far fetched, think about it James highly dislikes the YZF 450, but has been riding the RMZ 450 in the off season, JGR sponsors BTO Sports Suzuki, suspension ect., there he has the RMZ and the JGR sponsorship. But the question is will he ride for a non factory team, oh wait he wouldn't ride for Mitch at PC when he went pro, damn never mind.

I think the easiest way for james to avoid sitting out a season for transferring is if he goes to a Division II team like Moto Concepts. Then he can just continue riding and get a better offer from a Division I team down the road..

well today was his last day to tell JGR he was racing for them. so we should be hearing about the new rider (regal) announcement for outdoors soon.

how great for the sport would it be if the new crop of AM riders coming into the pro ranks could sign a long term deal that could then be traded if the riders results justified a BIG team trading/buying them. Imagine more than just a handfull of riders actually making a living.

Like baseball.....Could justify a minor MX/SX league.

James and the Pirelli tire contract to Suzuki for the Dunlops and a bag of balls...pending a physical of course

A better trade would be a rider swap involving James and Kyle Chisolm. Chiz looked better on the Yamaha and James was better on the KX.
