I just bought my first bike 17 crf250r. It’s financed, what insurance do I need or want? Plan on mostly trail riding and track when I get used to riding.

Find an insurance company that can bundle everything together for you, that's your best bet for a good deal. Car, bike, rental/home owners etc. We use Safeco, but there are good deals out there, just have to shop a little.

+1 on Progressive. I insured all 3 of my dirt bikes through them and I added extras coverage in case of theft/ fire, etc. I pay more for the extras coverage than the basic coverage itself, but with all the stolen bike threads, I wasn't going to take any chances on losing the money I have sitting in my garage

I have State Farm. They insure my 2016 yz250f and it includes theft, liability and damage (not sure why) for around $230 a year.

Couldn't get Geico or Progressive because an FC450 is a competition motorcycle. I went with State Farm which was cheaper than those two anyway.

I insured straight thru Progressive for all 3 bikes. RMZ450 and 2- RM 250's

I pay $450 a year and all 3 bikes have $10K (not pro-rated) in extras coverage, plus value of the bike(s).

Geico also insures competition dirt bikes, I got a quote from them as well.....

I was told that they have comp/ collision coverage, in case you hurt someone or damage their bike out on a trail ride/ Moto track, etc. there is medical coverage as well.

I had progressive on my boat, and they were great. I have Safeco on my RV, and they gave me a great quote on my dirt bikes, but mine are paid off and I am lucky they are stored securely so I passed.

THumbs up for Progressive, but Safeco is the best bang for buck.

I use Gieco, beleave it or not it was cheaper for me to insure 3 bikes because of the discount then 2 bikes. One is an old vintage bike. I think it’s like $200 a year, covers in the house and traveling.

I had Progressive on my CRF, KX and YZ. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t insure the Husky?

I’ve got 4 bikes on progressive policy for about 180 a year total. 2 fc250s, 1 yz144 and 1 95 cr250.

Progressive paid on my yz250. Rate didn’t go up after. Battled me for 30 days but they paid.
