Apologies for another JS7 thread... BUT if he were to run a 250 for this last season, actually show up and give a decent effort, would he be redeemed for his terrible showing the last few years and end his career as somebody who did great things and ended in a great way?

As unlikely as it is, it would create a huge buzz and he wouldn't be remembered as the great rider who couldn't let go. Main events or not you'd be interested in how it would play out and if he had fun with it it would be to his advantage. I see it being a better choice than actually trying to win another championship....

The AMA wouldn't let him...Unless he was on a manufacturer that has a current 250 2 stroke model.

Next up in the land of things that won't ever happen...

A year of anything will erase the past few years. Those years are done and can't be done ever. History is written and the ink is dry.

you would see JS7 in the LCQ every weekend if he rode a 2 stroke.

If JS7 comes out and wins MEC he will erase last two years. Your only as good as your last race.

If JS7 finishes 3 motos at MEC he might get a ride for 17.

JS7 isn't in the type of shape necessary to choose a more demanding bike to ride with any degree of success. Dude looked flat out 25 lbs heavy last year.

Remember when James was on a 250 2 stroke and RC was on a 450? And then James got a 450? Night and day difference.
