Ok so I'm driving out to my girl friends house (she lives out in the country) but this time I decided to take a different route. Well about one block from where she lives I noticed what looked to be a mx track in someones back yard. I rolled by slow enough to take a peak and sure enough it looks to be a nice little arenacross style track. The house is so close I could ride to it from my girls pad. I would love to ride this thing but have no idea where to start. How should I introduce my self? Should I just walk up, knock on the door and tell them I'm a neighbor from across the way? Has anyone here ever been in a similar situation?

Mate, just do it. How did you introduce yourself to your girlfriend?

Wait till you hear the sound of bikes and then just casually stroll over and introduce yourself, say how cool the track is and ask them if they ever need any help with watering, picking rocks etc......

If that doesn't get you an invite to ride nothing will.

Well thats the thing, I've NEVER heard bikes out here and we've been dating for years. It also looks like the track is well kept so somebody is riding it but I do like the idea.

You will just have to keep your eyes peeled for any action then.
Yeah lots of folks have probably asked them if they can ride but offering to work a little.....always a leg up.

Track looks cool from the overhead keep us posted.

Just unload and start riding...maybe not. Seriously though I have on two occasions just stopped by places where I saw tracks and just asked. At one track the owner politely declined saying he only had a few friends that he allowed to ride there. The other one I got to ride.

Just walk up to the house and introduce yourself. Tell them you saw the track and wondered who rode there. Most people that have a track would be cool with that approach.
