Hello, I’m new to riding and recently bought a 2016 sxf250 and have found a slight leak out of an Alan key hole. It had a red tint in colour was just wondering if it would be major or not and if it’s normal cheers!

I had an issue on my 2015 FC350 leaking oil from the tiny allen key hole on the stator cover. I pulled it out, put some yamabond liquid gasket on the threads, and put it back in. That solved my problem.

Not sure if that would work with your issue, but it's probably worth a try.

That’s the cam chain tensioner plug, nothing to worry about, you can replace copper crush washer,, most folks replace the stock tensioner with dirt tricks tensioner, great investment ,, better than stock

Yep, replace the tensioner while your at it. It's a hydro that takes a second to prime and create tension. The other options are mechanical and are tensioned at all times.

There is a thread where we've been discussing the hydraulic tensioner. There are options other than the Dirt Tricks out there now. The Dirt Tricks tensioner is still hydraulic. It is just ratcheting so that it maintains most of it's position when there is no oil pressure instead of totally relaxing like the stock one.

I just bought the new Nihilo one which is totally manual but have not installed it yet. It appears to be the cleanest, simplest option of the ones I've researched.

Becareful removing
material is soft and if its too tight it will strip
may have to grind a allen down shorter to clear frame to remove

No concern here, the 250 and 350 will occasionally develop a slight oil leak in this area, just remove the valve cover and put a bead of gasket maker in the U channel
