Where do you guys ride in winter? From what I hear it's mostly shutdown around this time for tracks? Any places in Germany that are open or private property that allows riders? Willing to go outside of Germany a few hours if need be. Looking for any type of riding to do when tracks are closed (or if you know of open track) woods, trails, singletrack, anything. I am in the Nurnberg area. Thanks tons!

Sorry old account won't log me in for some reason. But, is that place open year round? Is it a track?

Grevenbroich as already mentioned here is probably the place to go to. While the german pro riders either train in Grevenbroich or go to the Netherlands/Italy during the winter, the more casual riders here usually take a 3-4 month riding break over the winter here since pretty much everything is closed. And yeah you will have problems finding any kind of free riding stuff here in Germany, it is not common and also banned from most areas. Can't really help with free riding spots outside of Germany, since we never did this.

Edit: Actually found this track https://mmc-schweinfurt.de/
Seems to be open during winter aswell and only is 1-2 hours from Nürnberg where you're located.

You could also take a look here eventually: https://www.mxc.de/mx-streckenverzeichnis

Around Nuermberg you‘re best shot in winter is Schweinfurt as mentioned and Berching.
But to be honest, the best place in Germany to ride in winter is nothern Italy, haha

Oh amazing, I just looked through schweinfurt’s whole website and looks very intriguing if they’re open for winter indeed. Gravenbroich does look like a gnarly track, but for winter I can’t be picky.

I don’t think berching is open in the winter, is it? Also, do you know any specific spots in Italy? When I get some time off, I can always make the drive to Italy to ride!

Thank you all for the replies

Ottobiano

Both tracks within 1/2 hour drive of each other. It’s about 6.5 hour drive for you. Information about track conditions are on social media.

I do have that app, but I don’t see if it says open for winter on any of the track’s unfortunately. Maybe I have to call tracks nearby and ask. I know berching is where most people ride around me but closed in winter from what I heard
