Although the rider can be responsible for a flat too, this is usually considered as bad luck while a crash is always somewhat of a mistake - unless a dear crosses the track but only Albee can invoque that LOL...

Back to Team France, second for the second time in a row, yet nobody (that includes DC and RD) even MENTIONNED France as a potential podium team !! It is to be noted also that Boissière was a "B" choice after Frossard got hurt (but he rode great) !
Look at what happened to Stewart. The guy has a perfect season, comes to the MXdN, small crash and the bike won't start. Strange huh???

Pourcel rode well, but he cant even keep the pace RV was runnin on his 250F. RV smoked his best lap time on lap 16 in moto 1.
Overall I have to say I am disappointed in the GP champs. Neither was even close to the pace of the leaders and Reed was the weakest link on the AUS team, WTF?
Next year France will be a team too challenge USA, a fit Seb. and fit Christophe Pourcel+ aubin is a team on a mission i think.

Guess you were very tired when you watched the race.
how can u be disappointed with our champs ? DP was battling hard with stewart for like 5 laps which is more than what any of your AMA riders have managed to do all season long, and as for rattray well he had some pretty bad luck but when he let villopoto by him he just sat on his tail throughout the whole mx2 vs open moto.
and as for reed hahah............ he pretty much in 1 word was very disappointing to watch, oh and ferry and byrne finished 2nd and 3rd to stewart in the champiuonship this year didnt they ?????............... well those 2 wernt even close to our fast mx1 riders.
overall though ill admit stewart and villopoto were very very very impressive to watch and it was a well deserved win for team USA but i dont think it was a walk in the park for them this year they had to work very hard for that win.

Eric has 5 championships (in 3 different classes) and Christophe only 1.
Sylvain won more GP's than Seb and was a title contender severall times against the great Joel Robert (both on superior machinery).
So, overall, the Pourcel's have a long road in front of them to achieve as much as the Geboers' did in MX (but they are still very young) !
For the record, 3 things the Pourcel's have done that the Geboers have not :
- Win a GP on the same day (the difference in age did not allow the Geboers' to match that but, as a team, they won together when Sylvain was wrenching for Eric)
- Win major SX events (Christophe Phoenix Lites winner and King of Bercy)
- Win the MXDN individually.
