I’m wondering if any of you that have had collarbone surgery (plates and screws) can feel the screws/ do any stick up higher than the rest. Also did you lose any range of motion after the plate?

I had one in January. It was along with a plethora of other injuries so my collarbone was really the least of my attention but it has been smooth sailing. I can feel the plate through my skin but it doesn’t bother me at all. I had some difficulty with rang of motion but physical therapy took care of that. My destroyed scapula was much more of a range of motion issue. It also caused me to be immobile for 6 weeks so that probably caused some of my lack of flexibility. With yours I’d imagine you’ll be able to get to working on it much sooner than I could.

Had mine done a year ago. Yes you can feel the screws. No range of motion loss.

Honestly once you get it plated its not even a big deal once the incision heals.

Had my epic screw up in March. Doc did not do a plate, he did a rod and basically stapled my bone back together because it was in four pieces. The rod shifted and poked out of my back in July which was pretty gruesome. Doc took it out that week and I’ve been riding since March staple is still in the bone but I can’t tell. Only things left are scars and nerve damage. Oh, I also got to keep the rod.
