Besides, NONE of that matters, that was years ago and in a different class. I love your 7th point, that he beat Cairoli, Rattray, Philapaerts, etc. Well guess what?
- Alessi used to beat everyone on 80s
- Josh Grant used to beat Trey Canard on 250s
- J-Law beat Dungey in a lite's SX title
- Eric Sorby almost beat JS259
- Travis Preston once beat James Stewart in a championship, and in supercross no less!
- Heck, I think even David Pingree almost won a Lites title if it wasn't for a mechanical. Pingree!
Do all of them deserve factory rides this year too?
leave your agenda at the door, pal
oh and also
-this was all on 250's, not 80's
-when exactly did jg33 beat canard on 250's i need proof of this shit?
-J-law doesnt race professionally anymore
-sorby doesnt race anymore
-preston is a riding coach
-and pingree was a good rider, better than me or you anyways.
-and P.S. most of them did have factory contracts at one point dude
preston with both honda and kawi
sorby with P/C kawi
pingree with KTM
Alessi with suzuki and KTM
grant with geico and factory honda
and j-law with amped mobile/troy yamaha wich was basically yamahas 250 team.
In the three years they raced MX2:
CP won 9 out of 88 motos
AC won 42 out of 88 motos
Whether it's riding a 250 or 450 little has changed between them - CP has won 3 motos riding the 450 this season and won 4 motos when he won the 250 title back in 2006.
but it wasnt meant to start that way, just making some points and of course people want to dispute said points, but the facts are there for all to see
Pit Row
try and follow me ok, I'll try to go slow so you don't get confused.
Statement 1: All of those riders beat current factory riders at some point in the past
& CP377 beat the current factory guys at some point in the past
+
Statement 2: It's been a while since any of those riders beat the current top 5 factory guys
& it's been a while since CP377 beat the current top 5 factory guys
=
Statement 3 Using YOUR reasoning that nearly decade old performances of having beaten current factory riders as legitimate reasoning for justification of demanding a factory ride now, then if you feel CP377 deserves a ride so too do these fellas. Yes, of course I know all of them had "factory" rides. I was using those examples because they are ridiculous, just like some of yours.
There's a long list of riders this year without factory rides that are far more deserving than CP.
In fact, the rest only shows he's not a finisher. If Dungey wins every first moto of the nats this year and Alessi wins every second moto, guess what. Alessi wins every national of the year and the title. And nobody remembers who finished second. Sadly.
I mean really, beating people is all well and good but winning races and championships is what counts. I'd even venture to say that most would acknowledge that CP can win races and maybe even a championship. However, the "not finishing" part of all that you posted is what keeps him from getting an elite factory ride. It's a shame but it's the world we race in.
