I was looking for the old MTV Sports clip with team Yamaha (Emig, Dubach and Bradshaw) riding in desert, but instead I found this. Really cool concept, riders decide the winner etc. It has Deegan, Hart, Linkogle, Dymond, Jones, Faisst, Pastrana and all the other old school guys competing and Denny Stevenson as a commentator (favorite quote about Metal Mulisha: "It's Brian Deegan and Larry Linkogle pretty much hating everyone and don't care"). The tricks are lame compared to tricks of today, but again stuff like Stevenson talking about the "helmet grab", is gold. Unfortunately I could not find the second part of it.

I think that event Link was being interviewed and said something like "yeah I hope someone dies tonight". Or something to that effect. .

I remember watching those MTV Sports and Music festivals..I liked BMX the most because their music choices were a lot like what I was listening to myself at the time.

I vaguely remembered thinking that Deegan and Linkogle sounded like retarded surfers trying to be hard..This many years later, yep that was it. Those guys weren't going to Harvard, and lucky for them they found their calling in life and made a ton of money off people who thought they could emulate the assholes they saw on tv.

Exactly! This looks like the most slapped together event ever, but if you look at it knowing how quickly all of this would take off (then die again) it looks very proto-...
