CR125 Reed Valve VForce3 Fitment HELP!!!

I am such a dumbass apparently

I wanted a new Reed Valve assembly so I bought the VForce3 Reed Valve for my 2001 CR125. Paid like $130 for it. It just came in the mail today. There is a problem - other than me being stupid.

Only the Reed Valve was in the box. There was no "adapter" to fit it into the carburetor intake boot/flange. It won't fit into my existing boot/flange. What the heck is going on. This was supposed to be an easy part swap upgrade.

See photos below and tell me what the heck I'm doing wrong. I have photos of both the existing Reed Valve and boot/flange, and the new VForce3 Reed Valve.

No instructions? I think you need to hacksaw off the two rubber triangles but make sure first cause it's been a long time since I've done one.

Well I just found out like you said you have to install the rubber manifold onto the reed cage, and then while it is fastened to the cage with these special washers that they give you, you have to take a hacksaw and cut off the rubber tabs. It seems really stupid to me especially for a very expensive high end part but apparently it's supposed to work very well. I would think for the money you spend on this thing they would give you a new manifold adapter to go along with it. No biggee. I'll cut the rubber tabs off and install the thing. Just seems weird to me..........

Thought so. You will love it. Had one on my 98 250 and with the fmf pipe and some motor work my bike was super fast almost as fast as the 500 I sold to buy it.

Grab 99-00 intake it's almost 10mm bigger at the reed cage. It will help out a lot and an 07 air boot.

correct,saw it off. it will work fine.

be careful not to fubar the mating surface.

saw it as close to flush as can then file the rest,orvair grinder.
