Picked this up for Joey last night. KTM 50SX Sr. Just need to get him some pre-prints, look to try it out on Sunday. He is super-pumped! He asked me if he got good enough with it if he could race one of the KTM challenges at a Supercross.

Get familiar with the clutch and change the oil every 20 minutes, it's the key to those bikes. And don't let adults ride it like a pit bike, it greatly reduces clutch life.

Rode the V2 in the backyard a little, gobs of power with the 160. Almost too much for back there.

Sweet! You still have the backyard track eh? That's cool. Glad no one has shut you down. Every house should have a backyard track, right.

Oh but there is a clutch! You have to use a Mic to get the washer stack for the clutch shoes. It's a three shoe clutch. Have him be careful when landing on the jumps while on the gas as I know several people who were breaking primary drives.

Contact your local KTM dealer in regards to info., for the KTM challenge at SX...the list is always long, and only for 7 & 8 year olds.

Good luck to the future star !

The best time of the kids life will be on the 50. They are not as much work as the people here are saying but it's the same people that swear every 4 stroke is going to break after 2 rides.

Had him try it out on the backyard track which is super tight. After 3 laps it looked like he has been riding it for years. He loves it. I was really worried about it.
