21 GasGas MC-E5 - error code 42

My son has a 21 GasGas MC-E5. Rode it during practice no issues. First moto cuts off on him after the gate, powered on and same thing. Moto 2 powered on bike foot on the brake twisted throttle forward made it 3/4 way around the track after jump and bike cut off. Error coming up with 42. posted this on Facebook ebike forum and someone mentioned Free Wheel Sensor. Looked online and called dealer no luck. Any help would be appreciated to get him back up and running for his eclass.

We've been racing them at national level for a year or so. Had multiple error codes pop up. Unplug the battery from the motor and leave it unplugged for 10 minutes so the control unit completely powers down. Then plug back in. That'll reset any codes.

Yeah.....cuz no mini dad has ever had to work on a 50 clutch or top end

And be sure to get a 10 pack of clutches to go with it....and a good supply of ear plugs to protect yourself from the most annoying sound in motocross.

Did you ever get this code figured out? We’re going through the same issue with our e-bike right now. We unhooked the battery for 20 minutes and hooked it back up and it’s the same problem, just shuts off and you have to reset it. If we have it on power setting 1-3 it’s not a problem but anything above it shuts down.
