A left hand rear brake could theoretically improve the riding experience and lower laps times. With no gear lever and no foot brake, there are no limits to what a rider can do with their lower extremities. Body positioning during cornering, accelerating, braking, etc. are completely independent of the bikes components. Imagine diving deeper into right-hand corners, as a rider can extend their right foot AND apply the rear brake simultaneously. Or hammering the brakes harder as the boots are free to pivot front & rear, versus very limited mobility due to gear & brake applications.

The other advantage? Bikes can have both hand and foot application of the rear brake. Although eventually riders would likely remove the foot pedal to avoid accidental application and provide greater range of motion for the right foot.

If Alta owners have added LHRB's to their steeds, let's hear from you!

How well would that left hand rear brake work for those of us who still ride with a finger on the clutch at all times in case of those o shit moments?

Alta has no clutch, so you've got that left-hand grip just looking for a riding buddy!

LHRB's don't fit well in moto, but they are excellent ad-ons for off-road riding, especially when encountering steep declines. Riders can roll their boots back while the front wheel drops down and use the LHRB to modulate descent speed.

I know this is a dangerous question but has anyone tried to bypass the thermal limiter?
