Looks great, I've been making more headway with the moving parts than the aesthetics. Engine rebuilt, tuning carb, swapping to a VForce 4R Reeds, Chain, sprockets, rollers, etc. Buzzed it around the hood a little, hoping to get 1 proper ride before snow flies.

Then strip for powder coating and work on bearings, seals, suspension, etc. It's a lot of work compared with buying new for sure...

Reminds me I need new vforce2 petals for both bikes.

A Lot of work but they're such cool bikes. I hate to see them disappear.

Finally ordered wheel parts.  Was really fighting if I wanted to get the stock rims re-ando'd blue or source some new blue excels BUT found a new Excel rear rim with new TM spokes/nipples off marketplace (excel's will go on the 1999) and a set of black Pro Wheel rims for this 2002 paired with spokes from CC (cross-center.com).  The front all finished up with the hub polished, new bearings (same as honda CR/CRF), brake disk/carrier refurbed, and titanium rotor bolts. Sadly, the rear spokes are not correct; currently worthing with CC to figure what's not right.

When the time comes to put this 2002 back more towards a stock resto, then blue rims are a must.

Finally bought some new side panels and a front fender (2012+ style). Waiting to get the correct spokes to lace up the rear wheel but for now rolling around on my spare beta wheel. Opted to not go with the OEM style of applying the Ohlins fork decals which is facing forwards and both decals having the O at the bottom.  Cleaned up the brake line that was on the bike. Sonic Cleaner,  Took scotch bright pad to the fittings, and used heat wrap on the sleeve.

Love it, looks clean, clean, clean! It is freezing up here, so I'm stalled out a bit. Need to get a heater for the garage.
