Recently brought a 1998 KX250 for $400 New Zealand dollars (USD275 aprox)

To make into a Splitfire project with 1997 Graphics and seat cover that will be supplied by Evo MX

Bike was not going, stripped her down to find the bearing behind clutch had moved, twisting everything inside, and blowing teeth of the back of the clutch hub and idler gear.

Frame currently getting powdercoated - $200nzd including sandblasting which I thought was rather cheap. Very long delay getting that done as heaps of grease leaked from steering head down into the bottom of the frame. as they heated it up to start the powdercoating, it leaked out everywhere so cleaning that sounds like a bit of a mission.
Getting bore looked at as there is a light ring round the inside, will need to get honed out.
First box of goodies arrived from RMATV - 7 days to land it to my doorstep. Got new chain/sprockets, swingarm/linkage/steering head bearings, bars and grips, throttle and clutch cables, air filters, clutch/brake/gear levers, new reeds.
Will keep updating this as I get more done !
