Today was perfect weather, it was 70 and overcast which kept the ground wet. So I figured there was no way I wasn't riding! I had the CR put inside with the other tank that has my new graphics on it and thought it would be sitting there until spring. This was the perfect excuse to get it out and...

That's the issue I've been having with mine, wether or not to keep it stock. The fork boots are also tucked away, and those sliders can easily come off, but I still don't know how much I want to tear into this bike. my fork seals and suspension is good and I did buy a cr500 rear spring which would...

Yep...mine had more corrosion than wear too. The water seal and cover was ruined and the oil and water basically was evenly mixed after sitting that long. I had to replace those and then do massive flushing. I got the radiators clean which was surprising. The fork guards are 92 KX's and the front plate from a 91 CR. I...

That's awesome! Nice to find another 88 barn find here. I found mine in a basement after sitting for 26 yrs. Basically was ridden the summer of 88 and then sat. The tires even had cob webs inside them! I've since taken all the plastic and tank off and put them away, buying new so that I can...

Nah, this is a daily topic for me. I enjoy it (i work in prosthetics) and love showing how to get people back into their sports. Ever see any adaptive motocross? I know David Bailey got back on a bike a few years ago when that started gaining popularity. As for the bike...it's been such an awesome bike so far...

Today I wanted to break in my 125's new cylinder and also take my roommate riding. This was his first time ever on a bike so I thought I'd just let him ride the KTM. He ended up doing pretty good and I wanted to rip on the little bike a bit so we switched. The old Honda did great...

Thanks. Yeah the more I put into this bike the harder it's been wanting to keep it clean and nice. So I bought a complete set of plastic and stored the originals. I even bought a complete nos bottom and top end for when that time comes. Right now it's on the original rings, the motor has never been cracked...

Wearing a prosthetic leg feels a lot like wearing a new mx boot. So all I did was raise the shifter as high as I could before hitting the primary and just lift up on my leg to click up. Clicking down is easy, I just take my foot off the peg and smash down. Shifting up is slower when...
I've been searching everything I can think of online and can't seem to find a site that sells these. I'd like to put the blue with #1 on my 88's extra set of plastic. Can anyone here send me some links or let me know where to look?

I raced an 89 CR 125 which was my favorite bike even though I had a hard time keeping up with the newer bikes on the straights. I made up for it in the turns though. This is an 88 which I bought from a lady who had it in storage since 89. This was the first time it's ever...

Lots of winter projects here! Those older bikes look like a lot of fun to redo. Hopefully I can track down my very first bike (77 XL 75) that I sold to my brother's friend. In a photo I recently saw on his facebook, I could see it in the shed behind him. So I think it's still around. Anyway...

Heat both sides directly on the crease and just go up and down evenly. Should come out even smoothing the crease a little

The heat gun method with newer type plastic works for some blemishes but not all. What it does wonders for are creases in the plastic that become lighter in color. It will pretty much make those disappear. What works best for newer style plastic (prb from mid 80's on up) is using a razor blade to scrape the discolored and...
I'm considering keeping my CR and want to set up the suspension to my weight. I'm 180 and have been looking at racetech's site for the recommended springs and such. I've found a bunch of shocks on eBay and am wondering if any from newer CRF's would work. Or would it be cheaper to just do the spring only and...

That's good info thanks. When you read on several forums people's opinions and experiences range from good to bad so it's hard deciding on which route to take with this. All I really want is better suspension, set up for me. And to attempt to do it myself. Suspension is the only thing I haven't ever torn into myself. But...
