SteelTigers Started a new thread To shift or not to shift...

Need advice on a new shifter after trying several that have failed miserably on my 04 CR250R. First replacement was a Sunline alloy. Typically I know that alloy shifters initially will stretch to a point and need to be re-tightened after each ride for the first few rides and then maybe once in a while. However this thing was soft...

Camp - I am thinking you are spot on with that one after reading many customer reviews of many types of after market shifters. Thanks Sec - That's great advice and I will definitely take that advice and go with OEM Honda. By the way I used to live by you a year ago. Was out by Lake Asbury off...

Any butane torch readily available from hardware stores (like the ones plumbers use to solder copper tubing) work well. They operate upwards of 1500 + degree's F., and beyond. Most likely you have grade 5 (Ti 6AI-4V) as it is one of the most common. I would heat the alloy up to the point you can feel the formability becoming...

I ride Thundercross and L-Cross in Okeechobee county. Last week Thundercross had a sanctioned race, so we all went out to L-Cross, just 15-20 minutes from Thundercross and road there new track. Thundercross is a good track and has some very limited trail riding but they are regimented by class even on practice days. Example, if you choose a beginner...

What grade of Ti are you bending? Typically Ti can be bent using standard commercial benders like mandrel. You can also heat Ti up to about 450~500 degree's F., and produce good results. Because of the tensil strength of Ti, you might get galling and stress fractures doing a cold bend as you indicated by the crimping your experiencing...

I looked at a cross reference micro-fiche and it only shows that the 06-07-08 RM250 will be compatible, however that doesnt mean that a different sku number from a different bike will or will not work, but its a good sign it wont. When you say your clutch went - was this a catastrophic failure that took out more than...

I thought so, does he or anyone that knows him post on this community? I was just curious if Kenny remembered an FTR race in 76/77 at Beeline Hwy., and Pratt Whittney road in Jupiter/West Palm out by old Moroso. We both were in same mini class, in which I found him stuck in a bunch of mud and fouled...

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Keylon used to race Hair Scrambles with the Florida Trail Riders, mini class around 75-76? I remember a Kenny K., that road a 90cc Kawi., that used to race with FTR when I raced with them. I used to live down the road from Greg, Todd and John Porter who all used...

LMAO!!! It started to get to much play between the steel joint and the aluminum kicker, so I am getting a new OEM replacement after a machine shop said it would cost as much to drill out and insert a steel shim as it would to get a brand new one.
