7/10/2019 10:59am Looking good. Upgrading your suspension and brakes is a great place to go. They handle so much better when correctly set up you won't believe how much faster you can ride.

6/25/2019 3:04pm Lol... Yeah it was pretty funny. I have never started one without it bolted on but I figured it was just the first heat cycle so no biggie. Lessons learned... Now I have a single zip Tie holding it on till I finish my custom muffler...

7/12/2019 8:00am Posted this last night but had a technical glitch. Some of you have been following this build.. KtX500e Fired it up last night for the first time... There is a bit of humor there.... Jason Tanner handled the situation like a Pro

5/27/2019 10:12am Some say yes and some say no. From the only one I ever rode it did seem to help a bit. But that was on a KX250. The way this engine is built it doesn't really need it, but hey, why not?

5/14/2019 12:33pm I had two builds for a high profile customer interrupt this build. Both bikes are finished and one or both will end up in Racer X illustrated at some point in the future.. With those done I can now focus completely on this build and get it done. I have made some small progress but nothing worth yacking about... Oh...

4/23/2019 8:33am I saw it on Guru this morning. That was a awesome vid. I really appreciate the effort that went into it. Oh, who did the anodizing of the forks? Thanks!

4/17/2019 9:48am Agreed. Nothing will make you faster than suspension that is set up for your riding ability and conditions. I have done the 450 swap for a few good riders and built the rear shock to match. Worlds of difference. For me I can ride one gear higher over the nasty whoop sections than with the stock set up. If your...

4/17/2019 8:28am The first trick to swapping a 89 KX250 to a KX500 is finding one
Most that you can find are beat bad... A buddy of mine just bought one that was mint (seriously mint) for 600 dollars. It fits right on. And the KX500 shrouds bolt right one with no mods. So buy it, bolt it on, and ride...
Okay here she is guys. FasterUSA took my wheels and hubs were cerakote burnt bronze and laced up to Excel wheels with all new spokes and hardware. The guys over at Faster are top notch and their quality of work is second to none. Every little detail they don's skimp on anything I highly recommend checking them out, especially with rebuilding these old bikes. My hubs came out better than new.
Finished them up with a Dirt Trix sprocket, just waiting on my chain.
Going to be get graphics made up soon, thinking of doing a more retro...

3/13/2019 8:16am Which needle? 16009B NEEDLE-JET,N82M 16009-1580 Is stock. Note: all the other needles listed have the following: (OPTION) after the numbers. Hard to start when cold? It can be several things but if it is jetting related than it says that your pilot jet is too lean. Thoughts on the "CEN" needle? Never tried one in a KX500 [b]Also noticing a...

2/18/2019 1:43pm You spent some serious money getting a beautiful top end ported, plated, and ready to install. Spend a few minutes to port match your Cometic base gasket or you just wasted some of the time or money you invested. I probably wouldn't try this with those cheap paper gaskets....

2/13/2019 2:50pm The left side installation was pretty straight forward once I remembered how the springs go in
The right side has a small interference fit issue
Just needed to take the cover off to fit the Titanium pin in.

2/13/2019 8:41am Nothing is set into stone but we are getting closer to being finished. The engine is assembled, all the new mods have been tested mechanically and they work great. The real question is how well will the mods work together??? We will see soon enough

2/12/2019 8:48pm Cole Townsend at Fasst Company really outdid himself with these pegs. The quality is unbelievable. It has the elastomer which isolates to cleats from the peg. Check out what they say on their website: Absorbs vibration and abuse. The elastomer absorbs vibration allowing your feet to remain better planted on the pegs. High-frequency abuse like spikes, jolts, and bumps are...
