rocket0322 Started a new thread Suzuki RM 125 Cases
10/14/2021 2:43pm Is the 1998 cases compatible with the 2000 internals? I have a set of like new 1998 cases that appear to be an exact match. I was going to simply transfer over the internals from the 2000 into the 1998 as the 2000 case is cracked and unsavable. Does anyone know if there would be any issues with any part...

rocket0322 Started a new thread 2000 RM125
7/30/2021 8:28pm Ok, guys, picked up a 2000 RM125 today that is in great shape but has a "bog" to it under power. Bike starts fine, shifts, etc, but hits that point where it will just bog down and run like shit! Thoughts on what could be the possible cause? I'm guessing maybe the carb needs adjusted or cleaned or even the...

rocket0322 Added a reply to 1987 RM250 Build.
3/29/2018 10:24am I just finished an 88 RM250 build. It'll be a lot easier finding parts for your 87 as the 88 was a one year off model. Keep us posted as to how you're doing!

rocket0322 Started a new thread Chromed Pipe
2/10/2018 5:47am Guys, I found an old PSI pipe for my 88 RM250. It's in the shiny chrome finish but is somewhat rusted on the back side. Can this pipe be painted black using heat paint being it's chromed? What would I need to do to get the paint to stick? Thanks!

rocket0322 Started a new thread WANTED: 1988 Suzuki RM250 Pipe
12/1/2017 12:03pm If anyone has a good, usable, pipe for the 88 RM250, please contact me. I'm doing two rebuilds and have an 87 pipe on the first one that does not line up correctly and an 86 pipe for the second build that is total shit. I'd like to at least locate one genuine 88 pipe for the main build I...

rocket0322 Added a reply to 88 RM250 Cylinder Bore Question
10/12/2017 2:25pm Welcome, Mdesmond. FYI, join this Facebook group as well. Lots of good people over there to help. https://www.facebook.com/groups/fullfloater/?ref=nf_target&fref=nf My 88 build, I was able to locate quite a bit of new parts using Partzilla and eBay. The cylinders are a hard find and you have to be really quick on the spot to get one on eBay. The 88 model...
rocket0322 Started a new thread 88 RM250 Cylinder Bore Question
10/9/2017 2:36pm I need to have a second cylinder I have bored up to the first step - 67.25mm. It needs about .008 taken off. My question is when the cylinder is bored to this next step, will the boring effect the power valve clearance when they are installed? Would the power valves also need to be cut down???

rocket0322 Started a new thread Honing a cylinder
9/25/2017 1:26pm I need to remove .008 from my cylinder to get to the next sized piston (67.25mm). Can this be done on my own using something inexpensive like a ball hone or will that not take enough material away?

rocket0322 Started a new thread 1988 Suzuki RM250 Carb help
9/16/2017 2:20pm I'd like to replace the carb on my 88 with either a new Mikuni or a Keihen carb. The stock carb is a Mikuni flatside 38mm. Can someone recommend a good quality reliable replacement carb for these bikes? Will a non Mikuni carb fit in place on the bike with minimal effort or will major reconstruction be needed?

rocket0322 Added a reply to 88 RM250 Clutch Issues
8/10/2017 1:16pm Paw Paw, when I had the clutch cover on a bolted down when I noticed this, I couldn't get the pin to move even with the clutch cable installed. This is how this all started. I'm hoping it's just in my head and there isn't anything wrong but it just seemed funny to me that I had no movement with...

8/10/2017 9:58am hare, I don't see any PM from you... I have a quick video I shot to show the situation. I can get the clutch pin to turn to the left but not to the right. Turning to the left will actually move the case out away from the engine so it's obvious the pressure plate is moving. I just can't...

8/8/2017 2:53pm hare, I gave in and ordered the Mitaka basket. I drilled out the gearing on one of the baskets I have and hope it will work when it arrives.I also ordered new washers (again) and even a new rack pin to be sure. I screwed up royally by tossing away that clutch basket that was in the bike when I...

8/7/2017 3:13pm I don't know 100% if the two clutch baskets I have are 88 specific. They were listed as 88 RM250 specific on eBay but you know how that goes. Both basket do not look like the one I removed originally and broke. I'll post a photo of the one I broke with arrows pointing to the only difference I see...
rocket0322 Started a new thread 88 RM250 Clutch Issues
8/6/2017 3:57pm Rebuilding my engine and got things all back together yesterday but when I attached the clutch cable to the pin, it doesn't move at all. It seems like something is locked up inside the motor. I took the clutch case and everything inside back apart again today, reassembled according to the diagram in the manual, and it still will not...

rocket0322 Added a reply to 88 RM250 Clutch Issues
8/6/2017 12:40pm Yes, it's all assembled and functioning according to the manual. This only occurs when the case cover is installed. I removed it all three times now and checked and triple checked and it will not disengage when the cover is on. I'm preparing a second cover I have from my parts just in case. I'm wondering if maybe the clutch...

7/23/2017 12:28pm cap, I think that group shut down. I am a member of the FullFloater group there and they help quite a bit but I still get some great advice here also. I like to get as many opinions as possible then proceed from there! Appreciate the help!
