The exclusion is for phthalates not for lead. so motorcycles could probably contain phthalates but lead isn't given an exemption so the point is mute, unless of course you have a motorcycle that doesn't contain lead in any accessable part--say all lead was limited to inner motor parts that a child couldn't touch.

You get all that UNLESS you are under 13, then the pin may contain lead, the sticker may contain phthalate, the bandana may contain phthalate, so you MAY get a patch and protect your right to ride, sorry can't do that either.

You bring up good points, BUT the way the law is written it is retroactive. So something manufactured before still has to comply to be sold, not used, but sold. Even by a reseller. This is part of the problem with the law. Selling your used stuff still probably won't get you into trouble, but selling new stuff would. Especially...

Enforcement was not delayed, just certification requirements. As a matter of fact in the announcement about the delay it specifically says compliance is REQUIRED from the CPSC site Sellers will not be immune from prosecution if CPSC’s Office of Compliance finds that someone had actual knowledge that one of these children’s products contained more than 600 ppm lead or continued...

Alot of the items pulled recently from clothing stores were pulled because of rivits, zippers and other functional pieces which because they contain metal are suspect. The manufacturer cannot afford to not be in compliance because fines start at $100,000. How about kneebraces, helmets(for any sport), boots with metal pieces(also tennis shoes with rivits or any laceup shoe for that...

Yeah, the clothing industry/ toy industry/ alot of small business associations/ WAHM's organizations/ ETSY and even EBAY have been working on this for months, glad the AMA came out of hiding to help us. The new laws are beyond ridiculous, and the limits prior to this were far below what would be lethal/dangerous. Plus how many 12yo's do you know...

The clothing people/ second hand shops have been fighting this for MONTHS now. Sorry it has effected you, but welcome to the fight. Strange I couldn't get my husband to even acknowledge the issue yesterday when it just effected "childrens clothing and toys" but now he is calling everyone he knows to talk about it, lol. Oh, and it effects...
