joeyburdette1985 Added a reply to Rm 125 bogging
9/26/2017 4:43pm Main jets dont have little holes at the bottom. Thats a pilot jet. If it idles fine im gonna say that circuit is fine. You have to check the main jet which is just one large hole.

joeyburdette1985 Started a new thread 2001 YZ250F quick throttle bog
9/26/2017 4:31pm Ive read a million post about jetting, mods, everything... and im confident I'll find the problem soon but few questions. First, stock rebuilt 2001 yz250f, fcr carb still, but off a 2002 as mine was trashed to a seized jet. I did the mod with the wire to the accelerator pump. But its still got a dead spot when you...

joeyburdette1985 Started a new thread Where to find YZ250F cylinder head
9/7/2017 12:35pm I got my 01 YZ250F project bike taken apart and found I dont need a crank but it dropped a valve and the head is in bad shape. Ill need a new piston and head assembly. I have found a few hits on Ebay but they look used and abused and look to need a servicing themselves. Is there any...

joeyburdette1985 Started a new thread 2001 YZ250F crank
9/3/2017 8:34pm Just picked up a beautiful looking 01 yz250f. It's got, for what I assume, a toast crank. It's locked up mostly. I say mostly because I can put it in gear and rock it back and forth and it moves a little before the wheel locks up and skids. I bought it for 400 bucks and figured I can get...

9/3/2017 8:28pm Crank seals are fine. Entire bottom end and top end is fresh. No leaks.

9/3/2017 8:27pm Will do, thanks for the help. Considering the changes I've made it seems opposite of fuel starvation. Everything's gone smooth with engine setup, it's just the carb that's been a learning process.

9/3/2017 8:26pm My plugs actually wet when I shut it off. Miraculously it starts back up well. I'm going to try the 260

9/3/2017 8:25pm Thanks, I plan to put a 260 in it and try again with my exact setup now. It's been hard to tune it without being able to ride it. This bike was essentially a ground up build. Once I put the 260 in I think it'll be on track.

8/31/2017 8:36am Hey all, been working on my project RMX 250 for a while and I'm finally getting somewhere. Its a 92 RM250 bottom with the rmx250 top end, Pro circuit platinum head pipe, pro circuit 304 silencer, Vforce3 Reed valve, UNI air filter with the air box lid removed. Using an Iridium Denso IW24 spark plug. I had an issue with...

joeyburdette1985 Started a new thread Rmx 250 main jet question
8/19/2017 11:26am Finishing a rmx250 build with rm250 bottom end. Been chasing around a problem with it flattening out and not hitting power band. Idles good and peppy down low, but anything past half throttle it just wouldn't rev up. Here's the mod list... 1989 rmx250 top end and power valve 1992 rm250 bottom end Epoxied crankcase chamber mod Pro circuit platinum...

8/7/2017 3:41am Did some more this weekend, the throttle tube was adjusted wrong causing the high idle, and found the reeds are letting light through as well as it's puffing back through the intake. Just ordered some new carbon fiber reeds for my vforce3 and will give it another go. But I'm stoked at how far it's come.

8/4/2017 7:39pm Hey guys, a little update. I got the engine together. And set it in tonight. Still need some various parts and things tuned in but hey, it runs!! Super excited to get it moving and wheel standing! Having an issue of it idling really high and bogging when giving it some throttle so I have to figure that out.

7/29/2017 8:51am Also I wanted to let you know I contacted him when you mentioned it in another post of mine. He actually sold it a few months ago. He said it's odd because it sat for so many years and then within a few months 2 people ask for it lol

7/29/2017 8:50am Okay guys, got my engine in from fedex today, and I'm excited to get working on it. Aside from fedex treating this thing like a rubber tire bouncing it everywhere it's actually in good shape.
Couple questions, is there a way to verify year of the engine by simply the engine serial number? In the pic is the code...

7/24/2017 7:51pm Sorry I read that backwards. You used the rmx250 bottom with an rm250 top. So I'm sure you stuck with the rm stuff. But of course if the rm250 electronics work for the RMX bottom, i assume mine will work for me in the rm bottom.

7/24/2017 11:31am P.s... I'll keep this post updated for future searchers in case this topic comes up again. Maybe one day I'll get some brass and split the cases and install some rmx transmission gears.
Is this what you need to identify
