i grew up in northern nevada. started racing in "86". first big race was the world mini in "87" i took 3rd overall in the 80 begineer class. what sticks out most to me about that was the race of champions. i think john kistch won it. does anyone remember the dmc kx 80 he had there in the mod class "insane". i raced 80's till i turned 17 in 1990. damon huffman was my biggest competion from so cal and norcal it was spud walters, danny nelson, and mike brandes. moved to big bikes in 90 and raced till 93. good results over the years but just never got to live the dream. the bench racing is still fun though. i still ride and race every now and then. god i miss the 2 strokes
