2/28/2020 9:54pm At mountain motorsports they were selling replicas of AC ET3 and Kroc but they were all sealed in Acerbis bags. A friend of mine brought a pro number plates KRoc plate just like the one in the link and had no issue with it and it was a cyrca plate.

You don't see a problem with him signing a plate that's not authentic? How would you feel buying something you thought was authentic only to later find out it's not? Pretty sure you wouldn't be happy about it. Him not signing it, assures that won't happen.

2/28/2020 9:31pm Like I said I don’t think Reed was just out to be a dick. I assumed there was politics behind it because other than that he was very polite and even asked if there was anything else he could do for us or anything else he could sign.

Maybe someone is making knock-offs of old FX backgrounds, offering them for sale, and that's what he's objecting to? He's currently sponsored by FX.

(Bootleg site name removed)/collections/chad-reed I'm not sure what's going on with this site but like someone mentioned earlier, there was a story about Roczen also refusing to sign a replica plate. (Bootleg site name removed) Might be something to do with this person profiting off of the riders' names, without giving the riders a cut.

2/28/2020 9:05pm Yeah I was looking for memorabilia. Mainly Stewart jerseys. I love collecting motocross stuff but I’ve certainly never sold anything. I’m heavily involved in the sport and enjoy having keepsakes and conversation pieces.

2/28/2020 9:03pm Huge profit margin but anyone could just as easily post one of the generic posters they sign or a random Jersey with his signature on it (that he was signing at the event) for sale so I’m not sure what the difference is. And for what it’s worth, this plate was just for memories and wall art in the garage...

Well i don't think that anyone of the riders would want to deny a kid or a fan a signed number plate. But people take advantage of it. Buys 5 Polisport/UFO/Acerbis/Cycra number plates, prints replica numbers, gets them signed and sells them for profit. It's understandable that the riders or the teams doesn't want to feed that "market". The losers in the situation are genuine fans and kids that look up to the riders, it sucks.
