Gio Added a reply to FIM versus AMA
8/23/2008 11:36am There is not such things as supercross in Europe. The track of the indoor races held in winter time are slightly bigger than Arenacross tracks, hence the risk of getting injured is high and the riders in the World GP cannot afford to miss the beginning of the World Championship. In the US most factory riders can sit out of...

Gio Added a reply to FIM versus AMA
8/22/2008 9:31am Geoff, the MXdN is an outdated event, 1) It is irrelevant both from a racing and business stand point. Motocross is an individual sport and it exists mostly to promote the sales of manufacturers' products (bikes, fuel and gear), hence the effort of a national team is irrelevant to the 2 key drivers of our sport. 2) The internationalization of...

8/20/2008 11:01pm With the '09 budgets being so tight, I am afraid they will be able to find solid replacements very easily...at any point of the season. Does anybody know what team, if any, Travis Preston is talking to? TP can run consistently within the top 10 both indoor and outdoor.

On the other hand, the rounds of the World Championship offer better infrastructures to the teams and...

8/6/2008 8:15am Right on. The reason for which most American riders don't even consider racing in the World Championship is the same for their Country is losing its edge: they have become complacent and afraid (as opposed to interested/ curious) of what is outside the US. Remember when Windham refused to go the MXdN in 2001 because afraid of terrorism or when...

8/1/2008 1:50pm When the rule was first adopted in the World Championship the factory teams would only post the sponsor's logo, with no number at all (I remember Everts' factory bike featuring "Radson" all over the side plates): now most of the European teams have put the numbers back on the side plates. I still think the current rules is the best...
