My only issue besides losing a strap is the pressure it puts on my ankles (size 9). I tried padding, extra socks, neoprene ankle wraps, nothing worked until I cut two pieces of wood about 4" and put it across the ankle area in the boots while stored.
I know this is an old topic but I was successful by inserting into the backside, start inserting on the side that is toward the buckle, add some WD-40. Place a small screw driver into the back part away from the buckle and get the plastic piece "seated" at the buckle side, from there some leverage will stretch the opening...
omg that's amazing, it sure brings back memories. That bike looks brand new, to nice for motocross. Nice to see the engine detail too, I recall those brake pedals with the bushings that would wear. It still was a bike ahead of its time. Congrats to the mx'er that restored it.
David was up and coming back then, he really had the talent to take it all the way. He earned the respect of all in the sport. Here's the bike I rode in the 76 Amateur National at Carlsbad. It went to Mac at FMF the week before, he bored it and put in the largest piston possible and jetted...
Hi FLvet, I do remember Rock and Gary Bayus but don't recall Bobby Johnson. Pete Wolfe is in Wva. His mom and dad are in their 90's. I spoke with his mom about 3 months ago. I have 3 daughters so motocross wasn't in the cards for the next generation. I have a passion for photography, did some shooting at...

I just read these posts that go back a few years and I really enjoyed them. Motocross is an amazing sport and as they say "Once it's in your blood you'll always love it." After all there is nothing like sliding into a corner, railing a berm, hitting a jump, setting up a pass, getting a holeshot, and dialing in...
Oldschool - Nice shot, you look like Bill Grossi there. TG130 - actually I don't think Barnett was there, if he was I wasn't aware of it. There was a rider named Bartley, he went (1,2) If you recall the second national was sponsored by Can-Am and Jimmy Ellis, was present that day for awards and lots of small talk...
oldschool... I seem to recall a rider from fla, Kippy Pierce, is that right? Thank you for the trivia on Gene McKay and Mickey Wetzel. Steve Appleton sent letters to riders after the national looking for witnesses to the other guy that cut the track. I talked to him on the phone, he was determined to get the title. Carlsbad...
Haha thank you, that's me #37. Yes Mickey Kessler and Kenny Adams were fast but don't leave out Savitski. The first Amateur National was held in 1975 in Kansas. It made a lot of sense, it was a fair mid-point for East coast and West coast riders with limited support to get to the event. It was a cool wet...
