6/26/2024 4:19pm "But living in Florida with the humidity is a whole other problem." Dan I live close to you, I had a raw HGS pipe and silencer flash rust from sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. The humidity is insane. That cone pipe looks amazing though.

6/26/2024 6:28am I always had good luck with that sort of routine. And if they started to spot rust I would use scotch brite with WD-40 then dry the pipe with a paper towel. I used to live on the west coast and rode a lot of dunes back when I had my last CR with a raw pipe, so it was...

6/25/2024 6:54pm Okay that’s definitely something I can get behind. Couple questions though, what size spray tip for the paint gun is best for that application? And what is needed for surface prep? I do not want to blast the pipe because it’ll remove all the clean weld discoloring. Wipe down with acetone?

6/25/2024 5:11pm 1994. This is a relatively clean power valve compared to the 93 I am doing now. Night and day difference. Based on what I have seen with these is this contamination is common. These possibly only get cleaned when top ends are done. And rightfully so. I would not clean this with any sprayed fluid while on the bike. You can remove the power valves while the cylinder is on the bike. I am polishing the main components of the valve. Cerakote on the others. The hope is that contamination will be less likely to adhere on a smoother surface...

6/25/2024 5:07pm I don’t care about maintenance, the looks outweigh the hassle!

6/25/2024 5:06pm I readily admit that looks fantastic Dan. Love the cone pipe. It’s good to hear you didn’t get burned.

6/25/2024 5:05pm Thanks man I appreciate it! I was definitely worried after reading through some forums about it. But everything showed up as expected. Part of me wanted to do a full OEM restore like what you’ve done with yours, but the other part of me just things ‘95 Honda of Troy bikes were really cool. So I’m somewhat going for that...

6/25/2024 3:10pm Big update. I did not get scammed by Claudio at Mastercross and my parts showed up today. I am super stoked! The bike had to have a cone pipe, I just couldn’t put a platinum finish or even the raw stamped pipes just didn’t do it for me.

6/23/2024 6:26am That’s disappointing man, I literally ordered the parts the day that post was published. The communication back and forth through email wasn’t too bad, so I hope that they come through with the parts. I didn’t order anything that’s supposed to be off a works bike. Either way, I don’t know how they are still in business when they are...

6/22/2024 2:01pm It really comes down to the details and the finishes put on everything. Putting in the work to prep parts for cerakote and zinc plating takes a lot of time, and I can appreciate the man hours invested to make a quality product/result. my next purchases are going to be a paint gun and a second hand oven so I...

6/22/2024 1:58pm Dan that is extremely generous my friend. Quite a compliment. I am familiar with his/their work. I would never compare myself to anyone. It’s certainly not a profitable business to go into due to the time involvement. But I have a history of following my passions over the potential of making a bunch of money. Hopefully others will see value in what I am doing and consider me for their own restores. Thanks again.

6/22/2024 10:19am I’m gonna say it, these bikes are hands down the nicest restorations I’ve seen. Up in the same category as people like Doc Wob in the UK. Good work man.
