Cannot agree with this more. Its so easy for a parent to tell their kid do this, don’t do that. The view from the sidelines looks a whole lot different than the one behind the bars. I ruined my daughters teenage years as a competitive swimmer by trying to push her to become someone she wasn’t. Instead of just enjoying watching her do it the way she wanted I was a miserable ass.
