4/17/2018 11:27am The 2 stroke is very over due as the primary machine in sx and mx...125 and 250. The reasons are extremely obvious by now.

12/5/2017 7:56am Hi again David, I'm unsure if you're still following this forum, but if you are and have a moment it's much appreciated. I'm wondering what your memory is from that winter of December 1982 leading into the `83 season? What was your confidence level, riding level, anything in general going on, and did you mainly ride that winter in Simi...

7/2/2017 3:35pm Maybe you should re-read...no swipe taken. Furthermore you don't know me, and also no-one from my era during the early 80s here in NC in district 29 trained harder than me...no one...completely and totally guarantee that, and also during the early 90s when I did vet pro in the area.and I had no financial help whatsoever...ever, not even from my...

7/2/2017 6:46am Tomac and Blake are very focused during the week, and unless a competitor is 'willing' to do the same he won't consistently beat those two. Barchia rides in my area during the week here in NC, but I can't tell you if he's that committed or not, but if I was forced to give an opinion I'd say no, and...

6/24/2017 9:49am wow...92 RM250 wins 2 stroke race...bike is older than most riders in the nationals! Nothing like the smell of 2 stroke exhaust....another missing element to the nationals

12/29/2016 8:11am David, since no-one is jumping in with additional questions, I have another to ask if you don't mind. How helpful were the race videos Gary made, and did you study the riders in other classes, for example Mark Barnett in `81 and Danny Chandler in `82 too in-order to analyze their techniques? Also, how frequently did you study the film...after...

11/16/2016 12:00pm David, I have another question if you have time and would like to answer. I'm wondering what if anything was difficult to adjust to the `80 KX250 coming from the Bultaco? Also, was there anytime during the `81 season you thought in `82 you'd be back on Kawi? By the way, this photo is 1980 at Metrolina in Charlotte, NC...

By the way, here's a photo from 1979, and this past year I found the current owner of the bike who lives in southern Virginia.

11/10/2016 10:19am As always you have excellent insight, and the answer's are greatly appreciated and interesting. I have a comment concerning the second time we saw you race pro which was at the June 1980 Atlanta International Raceway 250/500 national. It was so hot and humid that day. I remember you and Gary rolling into the pits that morning in a blue...

11/5/2016 7:51pm David, I have another question for you if you get time and would like to answer. Concerning Jeff Spencer, I know he helped you though several orthopedic injuries in `83, but did you realize the importance of his association with the team before those episodes? I assume he was instrumental in steering you towards a more solid training foundation beginning...

11/4/2016 4:03pm I believe this was Washington DC `83 and we were sitting right above where you see the spectators. A day race and a dangerous neighborhood. I remember David celebrated his birthday that weekend and had a piece of cake in the winners circle.

8/21/2016 11:08am In my moment of haste I forgot to mention this top photo, November 1983 San Diego supercross, the JT cameo you're wearing David matched with the Honda jersey and white gaitors are the coolest moto duds of all time IMHO. "CAMP DAVID" just too cool...nothing before or after rivals these duds. Obviously the next photo is Foxboro `83 with you...

8/20/2016 6:21pm One more comment if I may, I forgot to mention we were standing at the finish line during the last lap of the final `80 Trans USA support moto at Road Atlanta and knew this was the beginning of even greater things to come. I also for got to mention a good friend of mine for 40 years here in...

8/20/2016 4:44pm Hi David, thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions, and it's VERY interesting. I have so many memories of you on the track I don't even know where to begin. First of all, I'm wondering what your memories are of racing at Montrose, NC in `79, the sand track owned by the Sheets family. Last...
