For anyone interested, this is a series of post chronicling the frame up restoration of a 1979 Honda CR250 "Red Rocket". 
Here is the bike I started with. I won it on an Ebay auction advertised as a recent restoration. I could tell from the Ebay pictures it was no where near restored, but I thought it would make for a decent start. I started by disassembling the bike and inspecting everything. 8/7/2018 3:26pm just having fun with some bling, bike will be raced. I have'd changed the program so the number on the top will look like a number plate. Thought about it friday night got up saturday morning and had some fun.

8/6/2018 1:26pm have a copy on a thumb drive of how Al Baker from FMF would cut the frame just in front of the air box remove 8mm then weld bake together, I am going to do this to mine as I am planning to race it, not a big deal if you have a strong flat table and can weld.

5/13/2018 8:56pm does anyone know what shifter can be used instead of the original. Back when new we changed them out for one that was an inch longer off of a street bike, I can't remember which one. Also where can I find foot peg mounts, mine have been changed to ones that are an inch higher and I don't like them...
