I Began My MotoCross Trek In 1972 Working For Steve Martin s.r. At Cycle Springs Yamaha In Tarpon Spring's Fl,Owned By Ron Tichenor.By The Way That Is Ronnie Tichenor's Dad..Ronnie Was A Fla Great Along With Steve Martin Jr.I Went On From My Mentor Ship Under Steve Martin.To Working For Kip Pierce Of Pinellas Park,Fl. His Son Kippy Was A Fabulous Moto Rider.And The Best Part Of That Is Kippy Was Friends With Monte McCoy Of Pinellas Park..And Soon After That Kip Brought Monte On Board (K & K Cycle) And Put Me In Charge Of Building And Fabricating And Maintaining All The Bikes.Several Brands Ranging From Honda s Suzuki,Yamaha And Husky.The Husky Did Not Last Long!! Monte Couldn't Keep From Bending It Up..Just From Riding It..Down On Power Too. Well We Stayed With The Yamaha Honda And Suzuki For Monte..Rode Three Classes Between Monte And Kippy,And I Was The Sole Maintainer..I Had A System That Worked And It Went On For Bout Thee Years.Then Kip And Ken Hired E.C.Birt And Put Us In Hudson Fl..And Me And E. C. Went To Fabricating Some Winning Machines.That Handled And Produced Alot Of Horse Power. We Were Never Under powered..E.C. Was Brilliant But Didn't Have Alot Of Friends..Only Because He Produced Ingenious Ideas And We Could Put Together And The Guys Could Keep Getting Checkers And Alot Of Top Fives.Well My Biggest Endeavor Was When I Built Monte's !976 RM 370 Suzuki That We Went on To Win The Daytona Super cross 500 cc Support Class In 76..Monte Was Stellar And The Factory's Couldn't Figure Out How We Could Do That..Well That Opened Up Alot Of Doors With Me And Monte..I Was Giving Some Factory Possibilities But Chose Another Path! Monte Went To Calif. With Buzzy And Monte Continued His Wrath Out West Giving Bob Hannah And Jimmy Weinert And Those Guy's A Fit..The Story Goes On..But Me And Monte Reunited In Nov 2010 And Had A Blast At Sunshine Moto..He's riding A @009 YZ 450f And Still Has That McCoy Flare..We Made Alot Of Friend's And Monte Is Still As Personable And Kind As He Ever was..We Are Best Friend's And Will Be That Way Fore Ever..I Love Him Like A Brother!! And There's Alot Of You Out There That Do Too..Here's To Ya Monte....D
