PASTRANA QUOTES
PASTRANA ON PERPARING FOR THE RACE AT RICHMOND: “I’ve never seen Richmond before– I’ve only watched races on TV. Since I haven’t seen the track in person, I’ve been watching every tape of every race I can get my hands on. Not only is this helpful with learning the idiosyncrasies of each track, it’s also good for gleaning information about each particular driver’s preferences and habits. It helps to know who’s around you and how they drive. In motorcross, I raced against the same guys from the time I was six years old until I began winning national championships and through the pros, so I knew virtually everything there was to know about each rider. I could tell you who liked the berms on the outside or if they would be strong at the beginning or the end. So, I’m beginning this process anew in NASCAR with a completely clean slate and an empty database.”
ON BEING PERPARED FOR NASCAR: “It doesn’t matter how much practice or experience you have you are never ready to show up for the race. However, I am as ready as I will ever be. Testing and racing with 43 other cars is totally different. I feel confident in the car, but there is still a lot to learn. Every day I can get in the car is going to be very helpful, and every race I get under my belt is going to be helpful as well.”

"Travis is looking for the motorcycle handles" classic
Listening to the radio communication was fun too. Travis seemed very calm. Funniest quote was when they were pulling in for the rain delay and the crew chief told him that he would need to pull on pit road and park alongside the wall. Travis asked for clarification on which wall, and the crew chief responded with "just follow the cars in front of you."
