Tammy Pastrana to ride Suzuki RM250 in the Motocross Nationals

Cypress California, May 7, 2008 – Suzuki Motor Corp. is pleased to announce that Cernic's Suzuki backed rider Tammy Pastrana will be competing in the AMA Nationals and will be riding the 2008 RM250 for the summer.

Tammy had this to say about the upcoming season, "I'm sure there will be a period of adjustment for my fans as they come to terms with my coming out as the gay Suzuki factory rider and my recent sex change operation. To show them I'm no less a competitor now than in my previous sexual orientation I've decided to ride the two stroke outdoors. I'm confident that I can be the first female competitor to bring home the outdoor motocross title in the men's class and to do so on a two stroke in this modern four stroke world would be extra sweet."

Continuing Tammy added, "I know that most people had thought I made a career choice to drive in the World Rally Championship, but since there's already been a host of successful women drivers at all levels of auto racing the decision to come back and race motocross was an easy decision to make. With the top supercross riders deciding not to run the outdoor series in recent years, this has opened a window of opportunity we couldn't pass up."

Be sure to come see Tammy Pastrana on her RM250 and teammate David Vuilleman on his 2008 RMZ450 at the 2008 AMA National season opener at Glen Helen Raceway Park on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25th.
