now kobe finally plays one year to his potential, and here comes the jordan talk again? gimme a fucking break. jordan made everyone around him better. players that wouldnt have made other teams won championships WITH jordan. the team that kobe has at his disposal (now that he's finally using them) is far more talented than any team jordan had.
look, ive always hated kobe, yeah his attitude and fans really suck, but i more disliked him because he's never been as good as he could be and not nearly as good as his fans think he is.
forget that pau gasol is now a member of the lakers. they were playing at this level before pau got there. pau is like rasheed wallace, a really good role player, maybe even a B, but he's not you A player on a team. dont mistake talent with leadership. the lakers are not this good simply because of pau.
kobe has had relatively the same squad for years now, but now, for whatever reason, he's playing within the system for once. his shot selection has been good, his passing not forced. he could have played like this any other year previous and they'd be just as good, and he would have done better in the MVP voting. (beating nash those three years in a row wouldve been impossible though)
but MVP voting isnt based on how good you should be or could be. the MVP goes to the best player on the best team. IMO the leader of the lakers is Fisher. he sets the tempo and rights the ship out there. but kobe is the offensive and defensive go-to guy. everyone else on that team is a REALLY good role player.

as far as kobe vs CP3, its a really tough call. but kobe's team did get the number one seed in the west, so that does make kobe the best player on the best team.
and time will tell if the right decision was made on kobe over garnett if they meet in the finals, only then do we know which team was better.
i hate kobe, but he earned the award this year. but stop with the jordan talk, seriously. one mvp and a slew of 1st round playoff exits doesnt make you jordan, it makes you a better player than tracy mcgrady.
