However, the "big 5" have all been healthy and all have had to overcome their fair share of problems. Dungey did DNF a race with a mechanical, then split some cases in a heat race.
I'll answer with a question.
Why wouldn't you be enthusiastic if he won?
To be honest, I think it would be kind of a let down because like you said, it was not an inspiring year. In fact, you could say his year has been as interesting as his interviews. But dont get me wrong, I like the kid. but its just not his year IMO

Makes no difference who wins. One heck of a season.
The kid came into the pro ranks from the amateur B class. He has shown more consistent improvement than anyone else I've ever witnessed.
While he may not be the flashiest guy out there, his ability to be consistent, keep a level head, and work towards the bigger picture is pretty damn remarkable. He says stuff like that in his snooze inducing speeches all the time, but it really seems those are the laurels he lives by and is building his career on. Thus far, I'd say they're working out for him.
*you had to be here earlier to get the joke.
And you mention the one Dungey EARNED by making the m ain but not the 15 he LOST by losing the chain while moving from 10th to 4th?
Hey. It's cool. I can say too bad on Dungey and Goose for that because it's a MOTOR sport and somehow their motor didn't work.
But shit, Villopoto got a few points out of other guy's misfortune.
But make no mistake. Villopoto on his questionable and painful leg, came out swinging, and is still not quitting.
He among others would be making one helluva deserving champ. Just like Bubba, Just like Reed, Just like Dungey and Just like Trey no matter the lap times, the passes within the top 5 (there haven't been that many, by anyone), the crashes, the mechanicals etc....
I called it rounds ago.....the bar to bar has not been there. The heads up has not been there. But still they say this is the greatest season because no one know's who will win.
Which is why getting tons of 2nds and thirds will make you the champion.
If the speed is up, the comp so stacked and the winners so unknown.......the champ is the guy who was fast every round, minimized the mistakes at that speed and rode through the carnage.
Pit Row
Trey is one of my favorite riders but he is the same way and thats why I think he has cashed more this year then RD.
I would like to see RD or TC win but as long as they all stay healthy to put on a great show for the outdoors is more important to me. They are all great riders.
Post a reply to: Dungey-- Would anyone really be that...
